From ancient Egyptians to photons, Innovation in modern imaging techniques, World Radiography Day, November 8, 2025

As part of Misr University for Science and Technology’s continuous commitment to academic excellence and knowledge exchange, the Medical Imaging Technology Program at the College of Applied Health Sciences Technology organized a distinguished Scientific Day that brought together faculty members, students, and alumni.

The event featured a series of interactive lectures and scientific presentations covering the latest innovations in radiologic sciences. The key topics included:

  • Sustainability and Green Leadership in Medical Imaging: Highlighting the role of modern technologies in enhancing the efficiency of healthcare systems and reducing environmental impact.
  • The African Vision for Combating Cancer: Emphasizing the importance of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic imaging in early detection and improving patient care across the continent.
  • Optimizing Image Quality and Reducing Radiation Dose: Ensuring the highest standards of safety and diagnostic accuracy.
  • The Smart Imaging Revolution and the Role of Technologists in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.
  • How Artificial Intelligence Is Redefining Radiology through big data and deep learning.
  • Quality and Safety Applications (QUAADRIL): Aligned with international accreditation standards.

The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Sahar Saleem, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at Cairo University and a world-renowned expert in examining pharaonic mummies using diagnostic imaging. She delivered a keynote lecture titled:
“CT Scans of Egyptian Mummies: Unlocking the Secrets of Ancient Civilizations.”

The day concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring the speakers and participants. Attendees praised the richness and diversity of the topics, commending the program’s success in integrating academic learning with practical application, and in fostering a culture of innovation and scientific research among students.
